Abstract

The synthesis and properties of some oxovanadium(V) chloride complexes of β-diketones are reported including the preparation of the air-stable dibenzoylmethane derivative. The materials appear to be mild chlorinating reagents, decomposing in the process to stable oxovanadium(IV) products.
