Abstract
Niobium(V) complexes of the type, Nb(OPri)3L, Nb(OPri) L2 end Nb(HL)L2 (where L−2 and HL are the enions of the bifunctional tridentate azomethine H2L) have been synthrsised by the reactions of niobium pentaieopropoxide with the bifunctional tridentate azomethines RC(OH):CHC(CH3):NC6H4OH and HOC6H4CH:NC6H4OH (where R = CR3 or C6H5) in different stoichiometric ratios in benzene medium. Tentative structures based on elemental analyses, molecular weight determinations and infrared spectral studies hare been indicated for the complexes.
