Abstract

The preparation of (C₆Br₅)AuPPh₃ and that of the complexes X₂Au (C₆Br₅)PPh₃ (X = Cl, Br, I), which were obtained by the reaction of the first with halogens, is described.

cis-(C₆F₅)₂Au(C₆Br₅)PPh ₃ was prepared by starting from cis-Cl₂ Au(C₆Br₅)PPh₃.

All the complexes are stable at room temperature. They are the first isolated pentabromophenyl derivatives of a transition metal.
