Synthesis of “Mixed-Ligand” bis-Monodentate Phosphorus Donor Ligand Complexes of Palladium(II); (R₃P) (R′₃P)PdCl₂

Abstract

The synthesis of the complexes cis-(R₃P) (R′₃P)PdCl₂, where R₃P and R′₃P are combinations of (CH₃)₂PC₆H₅, (CH₃O)₂PC₆H₅, (CH₃O)₃P, C₆H₅CH₂OP(C₆H₅)₂, (C₆H₅CH₂O)₂PC₆H₅, (C₆H₅CH₂O)₃P, (C₆H₅)₃P, (C₆H₅CH₂)₃P, and (C₆H₅O)₃P are reported. These new complexes have been characterized by 'H nmr and melting points. They all disproportionate in solution to varying extents according to the reaction 2(R₃P) (R′₃P)PdCl₂ ⇄ (R₃P)₂PdCl₂ + (R′₃P)₂PdCl₂ which is the reverse of their preparation.
