Abstract
Condensation of glyoxal, diacetyl or benzil with 2-aminobenzenethiol results in the formation of bisbenzthiazolines, which appear to be in equilibrium with Schiff base forms in solution. On treating gallium and indium isopropoxides with these ligands, their Schiff base forms appear to react with isopropoxide and the equilibrium is shifted with the formation of Schiff base derivatives of these metals. The resulting Schiff base products have been characterized by elemental analyses, U.V., i.r. and in a few cases by n.m.r. spectral studies and structures have been suqgested for these complexes.
