Abstract
A simple method for the preparation of dinuclear fluxional complexes belonging to the general class, of which {[CpFe(CO)2]2(C3H)}+ BF4 (2) is the parent, is described. The dinuclear complex involving a cyclo-hexenyl ligand (10) could not be prepared directly from CpFe(CO)2 (η1-cyclohexenyl), but was synthesized by reduction of [CpFe(CO)2]2(1,3-cyclohexadiene)(BF4)2 with sodium cyanoborohydri.de. Deprotonation of CpFe(CO)2(methyl isopropenyl ether) BF4 with triethyl-amine leads to a dinuclear complex formulated as 13.
