Abstract
Vanadium(III) trifluoroacetate., V(O2CCF3)3, 1, oxovanadium(IV) trifluoroacetate; VO(O2, CCF3)2, 11, and dioxovanadium(V) trifluoroacetate; VO2(O2CCF3), III, have been prepared by refluxing VCl3, VOCl2 and VOCl3, respectively, with CF3CO2H. I and II have also been prepared by an acid-exchange method, i.e., by refluxing V(O2CCH3) or VO(O2, CCH3)2 with CF3CO2H. The conipounds have been characterlzed by elemental and thermal analyses, i.r. and reflectance spectra and magnetic susceptibilities.
