Abstract
Organo-germanium and -silicon(IV) dialkyldithiophosphates, R4- nM[S2P(OR1)2] (R = Me,Et, n-Bu,PhMe or Ph; R1 = Et, i-Pr, n-Pr or Ph and n = 1,2), have been synthesised by the reactions of the corresponding organometal chlorides with sodium salts of dialkyldithiophosphoric acids. These are volatile under reduced pressure and monomeric in nature. Some reactions of these derivatives have also been studied. Physico-chemical data such as elemental analysis, molecular weight determinations, conductivity measurements, i.r. and n.m.r. (1H and 31p) spectral data suggest an ester type structure for these derivatives.
