Abstract
Some new β-diketonates of titanium(IV) having the general formula Ti(X)4-n(RCOC:CON(C6H5)N:CCH3)n (where R = CH3, C2H5 and p-ClC6H4; X = OPri, CEt and Cl; n = 1 and 2) have been synthesised by the reaction of substituted β-diketones with titanium alkoxides(isopropoxide and ethoxide) and with TiCl4. These derivatives have been characterised by elemental analyses and their probable structures have been proposed on the basis of molecular weight determinations, i.r. and p.m.r. spectroscopic data.
