Abstract

Compounds of the type [Ph4M]+[S2P(OR)2] (M = P, As; R = CH3, C2H5, n-C3K7 i-C3H7 and i-C4H9) have been synthesized by the reactions of tetraphenylphosphonium bromide and -arsonium chloride with sodium dialkyldithiophosphates in stoichiometric ratios in parent alcohols. The white crystalline products can be recrystallized from aqueous alcohols and show sharp melting points. The derivatives have been characterized as ionic salts by spectroscopic (IR, PMR and 31P NMR) and conductance studies.
