Abstract
In this paper we report on the simultaneous synthesis of cis and trans complexes of the type: [CrF2(diamine)2 + (diamine = ethylenediamine(en) and 1,2-propanediamine(pn). The cis species are considerably more soluble than the trans. As a consequence, the last one is easily removed from the reaction mixture. We suggest a cis-complex formation from a trans → cis isomerization. This increases as the reaction time increases.
