Abstract
Oxovanadium(IV) complexes, VO(X-Sal-R)2, of Schiff bases obtained from salicylaldehyde derivatives and p-halogenoarylamines have been studied, where X=H and 5,6-benzo, and R=p-Cl(or Br, I)-C6H4. Complexes of the type VO(X-Sal-p-YC6H4)2 (1 :2) and the type VO(X-Sal-Ph)-Y(1:1), Y being Cl, Br, I, were obtained. Possible structures of these complexes are discussed mainly on the basis of electronic spectra, infrared spectra and magnetic properties.
