Abstract
The chelation behaviour of 5-(p-sulphonatophenyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole-2-thione (L) with Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) salts has been studied. This ligand forms paramagnetic complexes with all the metal ions studied except with Zn(II). The Zn(II) complex is diamagnetic. The Cu(II) and Ni(II) complexes are polymeric. All the chelates have been screened for their fungicidal activities.
