Abstract
Reaction of N-carboethoxy-4-toluenethioamide (CTTH) with a variety of transition metal ions leads to the formation of M(II) (CTT)2 (M = Ni, Co, Cu, Ru, Pd and Pt). Ru(III) and Rh(III) form Ru(CTT)3 and Rh(CTT) (CTTH)Cl2, whereas Co(II) and Ni(II) in the presence of pyridine give M(II) (CTT)2Py (M = Ni, and Co). All metal complexes have been characterised on the basis of analytical, conductivity, spectroscopic and magnetic measurements studies.
