A Facile Synthesis of Alkyl- and Alkenylsilatranes

Abstract

Alkyl- and alkenylsilatranes have been obtained in yields greater than 90% from triacetoxyalkyl/-alkenylsilane and triethanolamine. In a one-pot synthesis starting from trichloro-alkyl/-alkenylsilane, the corresponding silatranes have been obtained in high yields by first reacting with acetic anhydride-sodium acetate followed by triethanolamine.
