Abstract
The ligand thiobenzhydrazide (Htbh) has been prepared and studied by i.r., 1H and 13C spectral studies. Htbh forms 1:2 adducts with Cr(III), Fe(III), Co(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and a 1:3 complex with Ni(II). It also forms 1:2 metal-ligand deprotonated complexes with Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II). The complexes have been characterized by elemental analyses and physico-chemical measurements. Based on the analytical and physico-chemical data, the structure of the complexes have been proposed. The antitumor activity of the ligand and its Cu(II) complexes has been studied.
