Abstract
The reactions of Na2S2O5 with [Ni2L4Cl2]Cl2, where L = 1, 2-diaminoethane or 1, 2-diaminopropane, yielded hydrogensulphito, [NiL(HSO3)2], complexes. The IR and visible spectra and the magnetic moments of the complexes indicated that they are hexacoordinated where the HSO3 groups act as bidentate chelate ligands. Also, the IR spectra indicated the presence of H-bonds between the coordinated hydrogensulphito groups.
