Coordination Compounds of Vanadium(V) with N-Acylhydrazines

Abstract

Eight new vanadium(V) complexes of N-acylhydrazines have been prepared with 1:1 or 2:1 ligand:metal stoichiometries. Characterization of the compounds was done by elemental analysis, infrared and U.V.- vis spectroscopy as well as by conductivity measurements. On the basis of these results we assign a dimeric structure for the 1:1 complexes and a monomeric structure for the 2:1 complexes with the general formula being L₂V₂O₄ and L₂VO₂H, respectively, where L = acetic, isonicotinic, benzoic and p-hydroxybenzoic acid hydrazidt.
