Abstract

A new Sehiff base (N,N′-2,2′-bis(aninoethyl)methylamine-bis (3-carboxysalicylideneimine)), abbreviated to H₄ fsadien, has been synthesized from 3-formylsalicylic acid (H₂fsa) and diethylenetriamine (dien). The chelates of this liganc with Uo₂ ²⁺, V0²⁺ and VO³⁺ have also been synthesized and characterized vith the help of elemental analysis, molar conductance, magnetic susceptibility and visible-UV and IR spectroscopies.
