Abstract
Some 1-phenyl-3-methyl-4-acylpyrazolone Complexes with vanadlum(IV) were syntheslsed and characterised using UV-viaible and IR spectral studies. The general molecular formula of the complexes was found to be VOA2- where A is the 4-acylpyrazolone anion. The V=0 appeared near 895 cm−1 and this low absorption band is attributed to a possible presence of bridging vanadyl groups in the complexes. 2Eg←2T2g transitions were observed within the 24.7–24.4 × 103 cm−1 range due to an octahedral field in the complexes.
