Abstract
Metal(Il) complexes, M(ats)2 [M = Mn, Co, Ni, Cu and Zn; Hats = 2-acetylthiophenesalicylaldazine] have been prepared and characterized, Magnetic and spectral data such as electronic, ESR and IR are used to establish the stereochemistry and mode of bonding of azine in the complexes. A X-ray diffraction study suggests a tetragonal unit lattice for Co(ats)2 and orthorhombic unit lattice for Cu(ats)2 and Zn(ats)2.
