Abstract
New mixed-ligand complexes of oxovanadium(IV) of the general formula [VO(C2O4)(o-PDA)], where o-PDA = o-phenylenediamine, and [VO(C2O4)(L)2], where L = N-methylaniline (NMA), N,N′-dimethylaniline (NNDMA), N,N′-diethylaniline (NNDEA), o-toluidine (o-TD), m-toluldine (m-TD), o-anisldine (o-ANS), m-anisidine (m-ANS), o-phenetidine (o-PD) or m-phenetidine (m-TD) have been synthesized by refluxing (oxalato) (diaquo)oxovanadium(IV) with the said aromatic amines. The resulting complexes have been characterized on the basis of elemental analyses, vanadium determination, molar conductances, magnetic measurements and infrared spectral studies. Rectangular-pyramidal structures are likely for these complexes.
