Abstract

Elemental analyses, magnetic susceptibility measurements, IR, electronic spectral data and thermal analysis of the products of the reaction of tetrasodium calix[4]arenesulphonate (TSCS) with M(III) nitrates (M = Cr, Co and Fe) reveal that this reaction provides the metal aquo complexes [Cr (OH₂)₆] [Na] [TSCS] (acetone).10.5H₂O, [Co(OH₂)₆][Na] [TSCS].7.5H₂O and [Fe(OH)₂)₆][Na][TSCS].10H₂O.
