Abstract
anti-chloro(p-nitrophenyl)glyoxime (CPNPGH2) has been synthesized by chlorination of anti-p-nitrophenylglyoxime. The reaction of CPNPGH2 with suitable aryl- or arylklyamines in ethanol between -5°C and -15°C gives unsymmetrical vic-dioximes, namely, anilino-p-nitrophenylglyoxime (APNPGH2), benzylamino-p-nitrophenylglyoxime (BAPNPGH2), p-toluidino p-nitrophenylglyoxime (PTPNPGH2) or p-anisidino-p-nitrophenylglyoxime (PAPNPGH2). The Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes of these Hgands are square-planar while the Co(II) complexes are octahedral with water molecules as axial ligands. 1H NMR, IR and elemental analyses data of the complexes and ligands are given.
