Synthesis, Spectral and Thermal Studdes of Organotin(IV) Complexes of N-Acetylamino Acids

Abstract

New organotin(IV) complexes of the types. R_nSnL_ni [where n = 3, m = 1, R = C₆H₅. CH₃ or C₄H₉; n = 2, m = 2, R = C₆H₅ or C₄H₉ and L = anion of N-acetylglycine (HL¹) and N-acetyl-dl.-tryptophan (HL²)], (R₃Sn)₂L [where R = C₆H₅, CH₃ or C₄H₉ and L' = anion of N-acetyl-l-cysteine (H₂L³)], R₂SnL' [where R = C₄H₉ or C₄H₉ and L' = anion of (H₂L³)] and Bu₂(L)SnOSn(L)Bu₂ [where L = anion of (HL¹)] have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, molar conductance. electronic. infrared, far-infrared, ¹H NMR, ¹³C NMR and ¹¹⁹Sn Mössbauer spectral studies. Thermal studies of three complexes have been carried out in the temperature range 18-1000°C using TG, DTG and DTA techniques. Possible structures of the complexes have also been proposed.
