Synthesis, Properties and Antioxidative Behavior of Some Transition Metal Complexes of N-[(Benzoylamino)Thioxomethyl]Clycine

Abstract

Two new solid complexes of N-[(benzoylamino) thioxomethyl]—glycine (HL) with transition metals [Cu(II), Zn(II)] have been synthesized. The complexes were charactcrized by elemental analyses, IR, TG- DTA, molar conductancc measurements and 1H NMR spectra. The gerieral formulas of the complexes are Cu2L2Cl2 and Zn2L2(OH)2. The antioxidative activity of the complexes was tested. The result obtained showed that these complexes possess scavenging effects on O2 . radicals. Especially the complex of Cu(II) has an excellent scavenger effect for activated oxygen.
