Abstract
Mononuclear and heterodinuclear complexes of the title ligand, L, with Cu(II), Ni(II), Co(II) and Pd(II) have been synthesised and characterised with the aid of elemental analyses, conductivity and magnetic susceptibility measurements, IR and UV-Vis spectroscopy The iigand L acts as a tridentate in all mononuclear complexes. The amido nitrogen (P-NH) of the spirocyclic ring, pyrazolyl pyridinic nitrogen and cyclotriphosphazene ring nitrogen are involved in coordination. This ligand behaves as a pentadentate in the dinuclear complexes where additional coordination is achieved by the two geminal pyrazolyl pyridinic nitrogens at the 3rd phosphorus atom of the phosphazene ring. All mononuclear complexes yith Cu(II), Ni(II), Co(II) form trigonal bipyramidal coordination. In the heterodinuclear complexes the palladium prefers square-planar geometry.
