Abstract
Dimethylglyoxime (DMG) forms complexes and adducts with U(VI), Mo(VI), W(VI), V(V) and V(IV) oxocations. The synthesized compounds have been characterized by several methods such as elemental analyses, UV-Visible, IR, NMR and EPR spectrometry. The results obtained reveal that the deprotonated form of DMG reacts directly by coordination to form monomeric species by bridging between two oxocations to yield dimeric species and by hydrogen bonding interactions to give polymeric species. For the polymers of vanadium a metal-ligand redox reaction was confirmed by EPR.
