Abstract

Several new complexes of the Schiff base obtained by the condensation of glycyl-DL-alanine with 2,4-dihydroxybenzaldehyde were synthesized. The complexes were characterized by elemental analyses, conductivity measurements, infrared and electronic spectra and 1H NMR. The ligand is coordinated to the central metal as tetradentate ONNO ligand. The bonding sites are the carboxylate oxygen, imino nitrogen, amide nitrogen and phenolic oxygen.
