Mobile Homes in Single-Family Neighborhoods

Abstract

Providing affordable housing has been of increasing concern to planners. Their interest in affordable housing has been sparked by the scarcity of federal funds for housing subsidies and public housing projects. The waning federal interest in low-income housing and the emphasis on preserving existing subsidized housing have forced state and local officials to shoulder the burden of housing the poor. In some states, this burden also has been thrust upon municipalities by the courts.
