The Day the Treatise Arrived

 

Abstract

The five gold-lettered, maroon leatherette-bound volumes materialized one day in 1975 on the second shelf from the floor in the library of the regional planning commission in Dayton, Ohio, where I worked. I am not certain what caused me to pick up the first volume—perhaps some divine force—but I did.
