Abstract
Norman Williams was my law school professor, mentor, and friend. I took every course he offered during my time in Vermont Law School and never missed a class. I served as his research assistant for my last two years of law school and I continue to seek his counsel and company now, in my first years of law practice. I developed, from the beginning of our friendship and retain to this day, a profound awe of Norman's capacity for learning and for teaching; I have always enjoyed his lessons, stories, and thoughts and it is my sincere hope these few paragraphs adequately convey to him, as well as to other readers of this publication, my gratitude and appreciation.
