Periodic replacement with minimal repair at failure and general cost function

Abstract

We investigate periodic replacement policies with minimal repair at failure, minimizing the average expected cost per unit time span. Together with the stranded costs c₁ and c₂ of repair and planned relpacement respectively, we introduce in this paper a general cost function increasing continously with the length of time a unit is in use
