Abstract
Until now, research workers have been restricted to using σ2 units when stating the amount of treatment effect they wish to discriminate from zero by analysis of variance. Stein (1945) developed a two-stage sampling procedure which eliminates the use of σ2 units and allows statements of the amount of treatment effect sought in purely numerical units. The present paper is the first to report tables of the non central parameters required to use Stein's method
