Efficient calculation of hodges-lehmann estimators of location

Abstract

We present a simple and efficient algorithm to calculate a class of estimators of location which solve as nearly as possible , where μ ranks the is a set of weights. A variety of estimators, including the Hodges-Lehmann, the trimmed mean and the inverse normal may be calculated by appropriate choice of the η i Confidence intervals may also be estimated.
