Environmental Awareness and Participatory Planning: A Case Study in a Montreal Municipality

Pages 32-37 | Published online: 15 Jul 2010

Abstract

This paper explores what adults, adolescents, and children like and dislike in their local environment and which dimensions of this environment they consider most important. Their points of view are quite different from those of professionals and therefore provide complementary information. The social dimension of the environment appears to be most important for adults. As this may be due to particularities of the local context, it should be verified elsewhere.
