Abstract
Much has been published about the relation of the patriarchal system to the capitalist system, but the relation of these two, in turn, to the ecology question has not yet attained theoretical currency. This study triangulates that interface and approaches it in a practical way, using ethnomethods to spell out the concrete experiential dimensions of this very new concept. The project takes a close look at how the typically “feminine” ideological set with its value on nurture and survival relates to a more generalized environmental sensibility, and what constraints, if any, cut across the translation of this consciousness into an organized praxis.
