Abstract
Logistical and attitudinal factors have created barriers for the infusion of issues-oriented environmental education (EE) curricula into schools. One cost-effective method of bringing in educational multimedia on local and regional issues is through portable educational boxes. This article contains desciptions of two programs, one focusing on wolf recovery in the Rocky Mountain states, the other focusing on conservation of neotropical migrant songbirds. The results of a nationwide questionnaire for educators, which examined the current use of this method, are also reviewed.
