Abstract
Two uranyl complexes, UO2(p-C7H4O2Br)2(H2O) and UO2(m-C7H4O2Br)2, are synthesized by hydrothermal method and their structures determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. UO2(p-C7H4O2Br)2(H2O): R = 0.0606, monoclinic, space group P2(1)/c, with a =19.8400(12) Å, b = 8.8081(5) Å, c = 10.0914(6) Å, α = 90°, β = 92.687(2)°, γ = 90°, Z = 4, has a chair configuration with two cations. UO2(m-C7H4O2Br)2: R = 0.0333, monoclinic, space group P2(1)/c, with a = 5.1084(7) Å, b = 17.642(3) Å, c = 9.0716(13) Å, α = 90°, β = 94.063(2)°, γ = 90(2)°, Z = 2, forms a 1D chain with the ligand (m-bromobenzoic acid) taking the bridging mode.
