Abstract
Hydrothermal reactions of ciprofloxacin with Co(OH)2, and with oxalate and Fe(OH)3, yield [Co(Cip)2] · 2H2O (1) and [Fe(H-Cip) · (C2O4)] · (H2Cip) · 5H2O (2), which were characterized by elemental analysis, IR and single crystal diffraction analyses. Compounds 1 and 2 were screened for antibacterial activities against Staphylococcus aureas, Escherichia coli, Candida albicans and Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
