Abstract
A new linear-chain structure based on heptamolybdates with the linkage of {Ce(H2O)5} units, (C6H13N4)2(H3O)[Ce(H2O)5Mo7O24] · 4H2O (1) has been synthesized and characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction, IR spectroscopy, elemental analysis, and thermogravimetric analysis. Magnetic studies show strong spin–orbital coupling interactions and/or antiferromagnetic interactions within Ce(III) centers.
