Abstract
A new bis-N,N′-bidentate Schiff base has been synthesized, characterized, and used in the synthesis of RuII and RhII complexes, which were further applied as precursors in the preparation of trinuclear complexes. These complexes were characterized by elemental analyses, molar conductance measurements, magnetic susceptibility, FTIR, TGA, FAB-mass, ESI-MS, 1H-NMR, 13C{1H}-NMR, 1H-1H COSY 2D-NMR, and electronic spectral studies. In complexes, one metal center is coordinated through azomethine nitrogen of bis-N,N′-bidentate Schiff base and the other two metal ions are coordinated through nitrogen of pyridine.
