Synthesis and structure of the mixed phosphito-phosphine cation complex [Ru(η⁵-C₅H₅)(CO)(PPh₃){P(OMe)₃}]BPh₄

Abstract

Hydrolysis of the vinylidene complex [Ru(η⁵-C₅H₅){=C=C(H)Ph} (PPh₃){P(OMe)₃}]BPh₄ afforded the mixed-ligands carbonyl derivative [Ru(η⁵-C₅H₅)(CO)(PPh₃){P(OMe)₃}]BPh₄. Its structure has been determined by X-ray diffraction. The compound crystallizes in the monoclinic crystal system, space group P2₁ /c, with one anion and one cation in the asymmetric unit. The cation complex contains a ruthenium atom in a half-sandwich piano-stool structure. One trimethylphosphito, one triphenylphosphine and one carbonyl ligand are the legs of the stool.
