Abstract
Hydrolysis of the vinylidene complex [Ru(η5-C5H5){=C=C(H)Ph} (PPh3){P(OMe)3}]BPh4 afforded the mixed-ligands carbonyl derivative [Ru(η5-C5H5)(CO)(PPh3){P(OMe)3}]BPh4. Its structure has been determined by X-ray diffraction. The compound crystallizes in the monoclinic crystal system, space group P21 /c, with one anion and one cation in the asymmetric unit. The cation complex contains a ruthenium atom in a half-sandwich piano-stool structure. One trimethylphosphito, one triphenylphosphine and one carbonyl ligand are the legs of the stool.
