The Most Important Influences in Health Promotion: Continuation of the Panel Discussion

Abstract

This is the third in our inaugural series on the The Most Important Influences on Health Promotion: A Panel Discussion. In the inaugural column (April/May 1989) we interviewed Mr. William M. Kizer, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Central States Health &Life Company of Omaha and the founder of the first Wellness Council movement. In the previous issue we interviewed J. Michael McGinnis, M.D., M.P.H., Deputy Assistant Secretary for Health and Human Services. In this issue, we interview Ms. Julie Davis-Colan, the National Program Consultant for Worksite Programs for the American Heart Association, National Center in Dallas, Texas. As the National Program Consultant, she is responsible for the American Heart Association's “Heart at Work” program. Julie's primary responsibilities include marketing and implementing this program to nationwide corporations and the military. Ms. Davis-Colan's academic background includes a Master of Science in Preventive Medicine from The Ohio State University and a bachelors degree in psychology from The Florida State University.
