Abstract
Flow properties of materials are important in handling and processing of particles, which are greatly affected by moisture content, fine concentration and size distribution. In this work, the effect of fines concentration in binary mixtures was investigated. From the measurements of angle of repose, flow function and fluidity, results show that a critical fines concentration exists at which fines control the flowability. An equation is proposed to determine the critical fine concentration at the onset of very cohesive flow behavior.
