This write-up presents a corrigendum on Makinde and Olanrewaju (Citation2011), and upholds the mathematical correctness of the results in the published article. However, the intention is also to correct the misprint that appears in the published article. Firstly, using dimensionless variables in the paper, the following dimensionless parameters: thermal Grashof number (Gr), solutal Grashof number (Gc), Soret number (Sr) and Dufour number (Du) can be obtained as
[t] = sec (time)
[g] = m (length) sec−2 (time−2)
[U0] = m (length) sec−1 (time−1)
[β] = Kelvin−1(temperature−1)
[βc] = (Concentration−1)
[kT] = (Concentration)
[υ] = m2 (length2) sec−1(time−1)
[T∞] = Kelvin (temperature)
[Tm] = Kelvin (temperature)
[C∞] = (Concentration)
[D] = m2(length2) sec−1 (time−1)
[cs] = m−2(length−2) sec2(time2) (Concentration2) and this implies that [Gr] is dimensionless, [Gc] is dimensionless, [Sr] is dimensionless, and [Du] is dimensionless. Meanwhile, under the dimensionless parameters in Makinde and Olanrewaju (2011), a misprint of additional υ is observed in the expression for Gr and Gc, also a misprint of additional ρ in expression for Du and a misprint of ρ replace υ in Sr, however, these minor misprints does not affect the obtained dimensionless governing equations in the published paper (Makinde and Olanrewaju, 2011); i.e.
