Abstract

An experimental investigation for the simultaneous absorption of CO2 and H2S in 20 wt% hot K2CO3 solution have been conducted in a pilot scale packed absorber-stripper. The effects of liquid circulation rate, gas flow rate, inlet gas composition, steam pressure at bottom of stripper, and DEA promoter concentration, on the individual gas removal % and stripping efficiency were studied. The results showed that the performance of the absorber and stripper influenced one another and so must be considered together.
