ABSTRACT
The rapidly increasing costs of course-adopted texts and the evolving models and platforms for acquiring access to ebooks present libraries with new opportunities to support the learning needs of students. This article discusses how the East Carolina University Libraries are capitalizing on these opportunities through their pilot project to acquire and/or promote unlimited concurrent user online access to course-adopted texts. The article will particularly focus on the specific steps and current outcomes of the project. Through this discussion, the article aims to help enable personnel at other libraries to explore the development of similar projects.
