Restriking Hot Metal Vapor Lamps—Lamp Characteristic and Circuit Requirements

Abstract

The authors summarize the result of an effort over the last few years to achieve a practical circuit for restriking hot high-intensity discharge lamps. Work to date has been successful in terms of understanding the restriking process and the ballast requirements necessary to achieve it.
