Fluorescent Lamps—Improved Photometric Integrating Sphere

Abstract

The author describes a technique for improving the integrating qualities of a sphere by eliminating both the baffle screen and the sphere window. Photodetectors are installed on a ring mounted inside the sphere and are oriented to measure flux reflected from the sphere wall. Evaluation of the integrating qualities for a sphere equipped in this manner are compared to a sphere equipped with a baffle screen and a sphere window.
